Cheryl Astley
Cheryl is one of the Platform Interpreting Interns from the 2018 graduating cohort.
She comes from a musical family and was singing and dancing from a very young age. She was involved in numerous performances and productions through her church growing up. She ran a dance group for a couple of years in her teens before heading overseas.

Upon returning to NZ she joined a production of Footloose: The Musical and more recently was in Saturday Night Fever the Musical.

In 2016 she was part of the Pan Pacific Acapella competition with the group 'Crimson' who won the Audience Choice Award.

With plenty of theatrical experience to inform her interpreting and passion for the Arts, she is excited to be part of a team providing accessibility for the Deaf community. She hopes one day to be able to interpret for some of her favourite shows such as Wicked, Phantom of the Opera and Beauty and the Beast.
